This is all 's fault, with her art challenge.

I don't have the funds to create a new contest, but I wanted to challenge people to create something, getting artists to grow and getting more art besides

I want people to create their own Gath. If you do not know what a Gath is, you should look over my DA site. The orange fellow with the black stripes (me) is a male Gath, and the red creature with the black bow (Ballonette) is a female Gath.

Some things to think about:
1) Gath start out gray, but you can give them whatever "paint job" you want.
2) Differences between male and female Gath:
Females have that little bump at the end of their muzzle, and the muzzle itself is longer and thinner in proportion to the rest of the head.
The head is smaller in proportion to the body (or the body is larger in proportion to the head)
The limbs and neck are more slender.
I've finally decided that, like humans, female Gath have breasts.


3) Gath all have that basic tapered shape, but like humans, their proportions (amount of body taper, proportion of tail to rest of body, ear length, etc) vary, so there is a lot of leeway there. BTW, in case it isn't clear from my drawings, Gath legs attach to the sides of the body kind of like a chicken leg. The dragon from Shrek gives a great example of how this is done.

4) Gath LOVE to customize, and it doesn't have to stop at the paint job. Your Gath might have extra limbs, or cybernetic parts grafted on, or a peg leg and a parrot XD

5) Since Gath can turn other people into Gath, it's perfectly legal to do your own character as a Gath.

Be creative. Try to come up with a reason for why the Gath looks the way he/she does. Send me a link, and I will post a thumbnail here for all to click on.

Sadly, I'm between jobs, so there's no money prize. This is just an art challenge. If you don't think you're cool enough to create your own Gath, I understand. Of course, Dr. Teef will laugh at you forever.
